Integrated Pharmaceuticals Names Hermann Oppermann Vice President, Biologics Development

FITCHBURG, Mass., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Integrated Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IntePharm) (OTC: INTP.PK) today announced the appointment of Hermann Oppermann, M.D., as its Vice President of Biologics Development.

Dr. Oppermann will be responsible for IntePharm's research and development related to process technologies for manufacturing recombinant DNA - based drugs.

Dr. Oppermann is a premier scientist in the research community and we are excited that he has joined IntePharm, bringing his breadth of knowledge and experience to our work here, said Chinmay Chatterjee, Ph.D., chairman and CEO of IntePharm. Dr. Oppermann, an accomplished cell and molecular biologist, recently served as Director of Molecular Biology at Stryker Biotech, of Hopkinton, MA, a division of Stryker Corporation. Prior to this, Dr. Oppermann worked as Senior Director of Molecular Biology at Creative Biomolecules, Inc., of Hopkinton, MA, for more than a decade. Before that, Dr. Oppermann worked at Genentech for several years as a scientist.

Dr. Oppermann received his M.D. from the Medical School of Hanover, Germany. After several years at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley, N.J., he spent six years doing Postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Francisco, in the laboratory of Michael Bishop and Harold Varmus, Nobel Laureates in Medicine, 1989. Dr. Oppermann has more than sixty publications in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Oppermann is also principal inventor or co-inventor of more than 75 issued US and international patents.

Dr. Oppermann joins IntePharm as the company plans to begin manufacturing in its newly built cGMP facility in Fitchburg, MA. The 38,000 square foot facility includes cGMP manufacturing space and additional laboratories to support the process research activities.
