Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for direct
shift leadership and technical supervision of several process and
manufacturing associates as well as sign off on final approval of
batch production reports, environmental reports, daily, weekly and
monthly operating reports. The supervision process may include but
not limited to solution preparation, equipment preparation/cleaning,
operations monitoring, and data collection/entry, preparation and
compilation of batch performance data. The candidate will also be
responsible for scheduling daily shift operations; ensuring quality
and safety regulations; monitoring facility operations, activities,
and material inventory. The candidate will also be responsible for
working closely with Process Science and Manufacturing staff and
other departments to meet department/company goals and objectives;
the candidate will also have responsibility to train Process and
Manufacturing Associates.
The candidate shall have the skill to promote
interpersonal and interdepartmental communication for describing
the clear objectives of every batch and performance expectations,
provide regular feedback on performance; perform performance appraisals;
evaluate communication and cooperation between shifts. The candidate
is expected to communicate thoroughly the status of operations in
between the shifts; facilitate facility/operations improvement program.
The candidate shall review documentation, ensure completeness and
correctness of documentation; recognize and reward achievement;
provide leadership on projects, process improvement and teams; participate
in continuing education programs when instituted.
Requirements:
Minimum of three years relevant experience;
direct Supervisory experience is preferred; willingness to supervise
people on off-shift and/or weekend operations; strong interpersonal,
communication and organizational skills; successful demonstration
of leadership, teamwork and technical expertise; and thorough knowledge
of fermentation processes and equipment, quality understanding and
safety regulations.
